Additionally, Trace has been appraised at Level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration for Development, Version 1.3 (CMMI®-DEV, V1.3). The certifications and the appraisal enable our company to persistently advance, provide better support to our customers, and be actively responsible for our impact on the environment.

Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)® Appraisal

Trace Systems has been appraised at Level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration for Development (CMMI)®. CMMI® is a capability improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance. The appraisal was performed by GMS Registrar Ltd. An appraisal at maturity Level 3 indicates Trace is performing at a “defined” level. At this level, processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods. The appraisal indicates that our set of standard processes, which is the basis for maturity Level 3, is established and will improve over time. The CMMI® Institute, a subsidiary of Carnegie Mellon University, is dedicated to elevating organizational performance through best-in-class solutions to real-world challenges. The Institute is the home of the CMMI® for Development, Services, and Acquisition; the People Capability Maturity Model; and the Data Management Maturity Model (DMM). These are capability improvement models that create high-performance and high maturity cultures. The models are used in thousands of organizations worldwide to deliver business results that serve as differentiators in the global market. ISO 9001:2008 Certification

ISO 9001:2008 is an international standard that was developed by ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) Technical committee TC 176, Quality Management and Quality Assurance. ISO 9001:2008 sets out the criteria for a Quality Management System (QMS). The standard is based on several quality management principles including strong customer focus, motivation and commitment of top management, process approach and continual improvement. As a small defense contractor in a highly competitive market, Trace Systems has always differentiated itself by delivering high quality services to its customers. As such, the achievement of ISO 9001:2008 QMS adds significant value to the Company and its services. Trace’s goals in achieving ISO 9001 are: 1. Establish valuable objectives to measure itself against 2. A great opportunity to streamline excess documentation 3. Compels the company to evaluate its interfaces and processes 4. Helps manage change 5. Reduce waste redundancies 6. Establish clear company vision 7. Focus on achieving 100% customer satisfaction 8. Improve employees’ motivation and competence.

Trace Systems was awarded ISO 9001:2008 Certificate of Registration in July 2014 from an independent certifying body – the British Standards Institution (BSI). The company was able to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer as well as applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. Trace Systems is constantly seeking to enhance its customer satisfaction through the effective application of its Quality Management System, including processes for continual improvement.

ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Certification

ISO 27001, or formally ISO/IEC 27001:2013, is an international standard that was developed by ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) and IEC (the International Electrotechnical Commission). ISO 27001 helps organizations to manage the security of its assets and provides the requirements for an information security management system (ISMS). ISO 27001 lays out a best practice framework for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and improving an ISMS. Trace Systems utilizes its ISMS in a systematic approach to manage sensitive and proprietary company information in order to remain secure. It also includes its people, processes and IT systems by applying a risk management process.

Trace Systems was awarded ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Certificate of Registration in June 2014 from an independent certifying body – the British Standards Institution (BSI). The company was able to demonstrate its ability to handle its information security and governance obligations, and to adopt an ISMS that complies with the ISO standard. As with ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 and ISO 9001:2008 certifications, we have implemented our ISO 27001:2013 in advance of bidding for contracts, which require certifications in certain process areas.

ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 Certification

“Walk the walk…” Trace Systems sought to reinforce its extensive experience as one of the world’s premier IT service providers. There was no better way to demonstrate that commitment than to embark upon the rigorous ISO 20000 certification process, which few companies of our size have been able to obtain. Trace Systems demonstrated that our repeatable integrated process approach met the same requirement criteria to which the major companies (LM, L3, NG, SAIC, etc.) were held. The Department of Defense and other government agencies understand that Trace Systems is internationally recognized for our proven experience when we plan, establish, implement, operate, monitor, review, maintain and improve our service management system (SMS).

Trace Systems designed, established, documented, implemented, operates, monitors, reviews, maintains and improves a Service Management System (SMS) of integrated and repeatable processes to ensure its services conform to specified requirements of international quality standards and best practices. This SMS is fully compatible and supportive of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.

Trace Systems was awarded ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 Certification of Registration in October 2013 from an Independent certifying body – the British Standards Institution (BSI). The customer-focused global standard recognizes best practices for IT management by promoting an integrated process approach to ensure customer requirements are met in the most effective and efficient manner. The certification underscores Trace Systems' commitment to achieve high levels of consistency, availability, efficiency and customer satisfaction within its service delivery organization. The certification also recognizes the company’s ability to identify and manage risks, resolve incidents effectively and have the processes in place to change and improve service delivery.
