  • In late 2012, Bagram South TCF was faced with electrical issues that in order to be corrected, the whole data center had to be shut down on multiple occasions.  Trace network and virtualization engineers designed a solution to COOP critical services to the north TCF and allowed the electricians to complete the necessary power upgrades in December of 2012.  Al though upgraded and modified to meet the current requirements, much of the solution that the Trace engineers designed then remain in place today.

  • Trace WAN Engineers deployed an enterprise SolarWinds monitoring solution across four enclaves to monitor over 6,000 network nodes. This includes the ability to perform real-time reporting and data trending for network availability, bandwidth trending, and anomaly detection. This allows the customer to be proactive before failures occur, but respond in the fastest possible way when failures do occur.

  • In 2013, Trace team members designed and rolled out the Exchange 2010 implementation for SWA. 42 Exchange servers were migrated between domains over a 5 day period and over 60,000 users on 3 networks were migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010.

  • Since our presence in the Bagram Joint Operations Center (JOC) early in the OEF operation, Trace infrastructure engineers and technicians have designed, implemented, and sustained the extensive cabling infrastructure which is the IT backbone for the compound.  This includes several thousand drops for VOIP and desktop connectivity, as well as the specialized buildout of customized Situational Awareness Rooms, SCIFs, and Command Centers.

  • Starting in 2013, Trace has been tasked to upgrade the SOUTHCOM HQ Knowledge Management software across five networks going from Sharepoint 2007 to Sharepoint 2010, as well as updating SQL from 2005 to 2012.  Our KM SME has conducted a requirements analysis and coordinated with all of the stakeholders including the SOUTHCOM command to roll out this implementation without negatively impacting a variety of missions.   The primary Sharepoint network being upgraded serves over 5,000 users from a wide-variety of US Joint, Component and Coalition commands and partners.

  • Since 2010 Trace Systems has provided IT engineering support for the Defense Enterprise  Computing Center – Europe (DECC-EUR).  This consolidated DISA data center is the primary recipient of data center consolidations across the EUCOM region and provides hosted services for a number of DoD and related organizations.  Trace SMEs provide Systems Engineer, Cross Domain, Network Engineering, and Help Desk services.  With a recent requirement to move to an ITIL-based structure, Trace has provided corporate knowledge for the implementation of this service delivery model for increased efficiency and services to the supported customers.

  • From 2010 to 2012, Trace Network, Systems and IA Engineers deployed across Afghanistan and configured 14 SPAWAR data centers for communications.  Tasks included, virtualizing of systems, configuration of SAN, imaging and building out of servers, configuring the network(routers, switches, TACLANES), and securing the network (firewalls, bluecoats, IDS/IPS).
